Introducing Lynn Petersen
Lynn is a passionate Arts educator and advocate for inclusion of arts in all walks of life. She likes nothing more than to bring people together to collaborate on projects. These projects are built on the creativity of volunteers (including herself) to foster goodwill and develop connections between people from the Canberra Region and beyond.
Lynn is a highly qualified and experienced Arts educator. Her qualifications include Master of Education (Curriculum) from Deakin University; Graduate Diploma (Pedagogy) from Newcastle University; Bachelor of Education (Drama) from Melbourne State College; Licentiate Diploma Speech and Drama (Teacher) from the Australian Music Examination Board. Over the past 30 years, Lynn has taught the Arts across the ACT in schools, for the Canberra Theatre Centre and with community organisations. She has facilitated numerous teacher professional learning workshops in curriculum design, teacher observation & reflection, and use of drama as pedagogy.
Lynn is passionate about theatre making. She has directed many stage productions and performed in a wide range of shows - specialising in long form improvisation. She has also directed and performed in festivals led by Lightbulb Improv, Chrysalis Theatre, ImproACT, Urban Stages (New York) and Short & Sweet. She likes nothing more than taking on the challenge to bring people together to work on cross-arts projects. Pop over to the YouTube playlists ‘Something Quirky this way comes’ and ‘Something Quirky... again’ to see what she has produced amid the restrictions during the pandemic.
Lynn is a member of Canberra Region Feltmakers (CRF), currently in the role of Communications Coordinator. You can see the results of some of her promotional work @canfelt on instagram. She has also led classes for CRF, both face to face and on line and is currently working on creating videos with members to feature in the upcoming ‘Canfelt Along: Celebrations'.
